One of my favorite sets to build! I did a few different things on this set, and they turned out beautifully!
This set is mostly black. I dyed the insides of the carved area dark chocolate brown, but it's nearly black. Looks really nice with the tan contrast.
These conchos are from The Rowdy Rose, my favorite concho place! There are a total of 5 of these conchos used on this set. I thought I'd match the copper on the conchos, so used copper lacing down the center of the breastcollar and headstall cheeks. I paired it with a dark brown buckle with copper in the flower centers. Love this! A little bit of turquoise lacing in the breastcollar, because I can't do without!
Of course, my favorite genuine turquoise stones in the browband! You know I couldn't make something without those lovelies! You'll also notice a few copper spots with turquoise in them, super nice. And for the rest I used mostly copper spots. They are also used on the headstall crown. I painted those dainty little flowers turquoise, and love them.Everything works so well together!
A truly unique set, full of amazing details. Definitely one to start your collection or add to it!
This is a short cheek headstall, and measures 34.5" from bit end to end, with 2 holes smaller, and 2 holes larger, for adjustment.
